আমি সাইদা সুলতানা লিসা। আমি রাজশাহী থেকে এসেছি। রাজশাহী জজ কোর্টের আইনজীবী হিসেবে কাজ করি। কিছু দিন আগে, আমি পার প্রকল্পের একটি প্রশিক্ষণে অংশগ্রহণ করি এবং বিভিন্ন পার এর প্রকল্পের ওয়ার্কশপে অংশগ্রহণ করেছি।
রাজশাহীতে আমরা যে কাজগুলি করি এবং রাজশাহীতে যে বিভিন্ন সামাজিক আন্দোলনে হয় সেগুলোতে অংশগ্রহণ করি এবং বিভিন্ন ইস্যু নিযে আমরা মানববন্ধন করি স্মারকলিপি প্রদান করি যার উদাহরণস্বরূপ কিছুদিন আগে যেটা হল পদ্মা নদীর পারে শতবর্ষী গাছগুলি ছিল সে গাছগুলো কোন কারণে কেটে ফেলার দরপত্র দেওয়া হয়েছিল। আমরা যখন থবরটা পেলাম রাজশাহীর শতবর্ষী গাছগুলো কেটে ফেলা হচেছ এবং এই গাছগুলো শতবর্ষী যা খুবই মূল্যবান। এ গাছে যে পাখিগুলো আসত সেই পাখিগুলো খুব বিরল নামগুলো মনে করতে পারছি না। জীববৈচিত্র ও আবহাওয়ার জন্য খুব জরুরি। আমাদের কাছে যখন থবরগুলো আসল গাছগুলো কেটে ফেলা হচেছ আমরা সাথে সাথে মোবাইল ফোনে যত জনকে পারা যায় সবাইকে মানববন্ধনের জন্য ঐ স্থানে যেখানে গাছটা কাটা হবে।মোবাইল ফোনে বিভিন্ন সংস্থাকে আসতে বলি যারা এ বিষয় নিয়ে কাজ করে প্রতিবাদ করতে চায় তাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করি। মিডিয়ার কিছু সাংবাদিকদেরকে জানাই এবং সাংবাদিকদের নিয়ে ঐ স্থানে আমরা যাই তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আমরা স্থগিত করি।
পরবর্তীতে আমরা মেয়রের কাছে যাই এবং প্রস্তাবনা জানাই এ গাছগুলি খুব মূল্যবান এবং আবহাওয়ার জন্য। আপনারা জানেন যে রাজশাহীর আবহাওয়া খুব রুক্ষ এবং পদ্মা নদী শুকিয়ে যাচ্ছে সবকিছু বুঝিয়ে বলি তিনি আমাদের পরামর্শ দেন ডিসির কাছে যান এবং স্মারকলিপি দেন। এরপর আমরা সবাই মিলে ডিসির কাছে যাই এবং স্মারকলিপি দিয়ে তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আমরা এভাবে গাছ কাটা স্থগিত করতে পেরেছি। এটি আমাদের সাফল্যতা। আমরা রাজশাহীতে বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে মানববন্ধন করি যেমন তার আগে যে ইস্যু ছিল নুসরত হত্যার ঘটনা এটা জাতীয় ইস্যু রাজশাহীতে আমরা স্থানীয়ভাবে মানববন্ধন করি।
এ রকম বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে অ্যাডভোকেসি করি। এগুলো অনেক কিছু আমাকে সাহায্য করেছে পার প্রকল্প কাজ করার পরে, আসলে অ্যাডভোকেসি প্রক্রিয়া সম্বদ্ধ জানতে পেরেছি পার এর প্রশিক্ষণ এবং ওয়ার্কশপ অংশগ্রহণ করার পরে । কিভাবে আমি সামনের দিকে এগিয়ে যাব। ধন্যবাদ সবাইকে।

I’m Saida Sultana Lisa. I came from Rajshahi। I work as a lawyer in the Rajshahi Judge Court. A few days ago, I participated in a training of PAR project and also participated in several workshops of PAR project.
In Rajshahi, we have participated in many social movements and activities, also staged human chains and provide memorandum on various social issues; as an example; a few days ago, for some reason, it was decided to cut down a century-old tree on the bank of the Padma River. When we informed that this tree was decided to cut down which has some specialty as it is a hundred years old tree and much value for society. I can’t remember the rare names of birds that came to this tree. It is very important for biodiversity and weather. When we came to know that trees are cutting down, immediately contact as much as possible through mobile phones so that we can protest at that place where the trees will be cut down. Through mobile phones, we contact different organizations that work on this issue and protest as well.
I informed some journalists in media who stopped immediately after we had reached that place. Afterward, we go to Mayor and giving the preamble with this understanding that these trees are very valuable for the environment and biodiversity, As you know that Rajshahi’s weather is very dry and Padma river is drying out. Then he advised us to go to DC and give a memorandum. Then we all together went to DC and give him the memorandum and successfully postponed cutting down the century-old tree.
This is our success. Besides this, we staged human chains on various social issues in Rajshahi like before we staged strong protest locally on Ms. Nusrat issue which was also a national issue.
We do advocate for such matters. These have helped me a lot after attending on PAR project workshop and training I learned a lot about advocacy and how to do it. It gives me the right direction on how to move forward
