Inception meeting on the project ‘Strengthening Advocacy Initiatives of dalit community (SAID)’ under Promoting advocacy and Rights (PAR) activity has implemented at Khulna City corporation conference hall on May 22,2022. The meeting was chaired by the District Commissioner of Khulna Md. Moniruzzaman Talukder, Aminul Islam Munna, Mayor In-charge of KCC delivered his speech in the meeting as chief guest. Swapon Kumar Das, Executive Director explained the meeting objective with a welcome speech. Mainuddin Ahmed, Chief of Party, Counterpart International delivered the welcome speech and he stated in his remarks about the PAR activity.
Runu Iqbal Bithar, chairperson, National women organization, Khulna branch, Loskor Taizul Islam, Chief executive officer of KCC, Mr. Shofik uddin, Assistant director of the department of social welfare, Mr. Kazi Borkatul Islam, Principle, TTC, Khulna, Riaz Shorif, Principle, TTC-Female, Khulna, Md. Moniruzzaman, Senior Instructor of the Youth development department, Mrs. Hasna Hena, Deputy Director of District Women Affairs, Ali Akbar Tipu, Panel Mayor, KCC, Md. Shamsujjaman Mia Swapon, 21 No. Ward councilors also present as special guests in the inception meeting.
Bulu Rani, dalit women leader, Kalipada Das, Dalit activist, Sabir khan from Sampriti Forum, Israt Hira, Joint convenor of Sampriti forum, Salma Jahan moni, Rajkumar Hela, President, Horizon Oikya Porishad-Khulna were delivered their speech in open discussion. They raised the key challenges of the development of Dalit peoples in Khulna city corporation in the meeting. In addition,Bikash Kumar Das, Head of Program of Dalit, presented the project and Dalit’s activities through PowerPoint presentation. Israt Nueary Hossain, Monitoring officer of Dalit moderated the meeting.
The total number of participants in the meeting were 39 including 31 male and 08. female. In addition to this, 12 staff from Dalit and Counterpart International participated.
