Waterkeepers Bangladesh Consortium organized the Balu River Festival on 26 November 2022 at Itakhola, Khilgaon, Dhaka to build awareness and protect the river from pollution. The objective was to engage local community members, CSOs/CBOs, NGOs, youth, media, academicians, artists, and public figures in protecting Narai, Debdholai, Balu rivers and to bring river pollution into the mainstream policy discussion and enhance environmental justice and political consequence of river pollution. The program is a product of the ‘Promoting Democratic Governance and Collective Advocacy for Environmental Protection in Dhaka city project under Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) Activity, with USAID and Counterpart International (CPI) support.
